Sorry, I should clarify *triple A games.

My nephew came over yesterday. First time he ever showed interested in video games, and somehow, Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Kart World caught his attention.

$60 + $10 + $30

That’s $100. What’s the extra $20?
gusplatoon.bsky.social
Wait, how did you get to $120
gusplatoon.bsky.social
Player demand is there
gusplatoon.bsky.social
Ok, I’m gonna accept that’s what you intended.

But to show why I was a bit taken back.

Saying “your reply seems stupid asf” versus “i was stupid got misunderstanding” are the not the same.

In one sentence, the subject and verb is “your reply” (me) and “seems” and the other is “I” (you) and “was”

Responding with “main part of your reply that seemed stupid asf” is not a respectful way to go about a conversation, Droid.

Dude, I was thinking it must be tough doing a social media job where you’re like a communications analyst. Because tbh, I was trying to be very careful so my words aren’t misconstrued but alas, I failed. So, definitely props to TOs and people who do online communications.

I tried coming into this conversation respectfully. I tried to share that I understand your POV. I shared that I understand your frustrations. As someone who is also POC, I guess I’m a little taken back.

It is difficult having conversations like this when it does not feel respectfully mutual.

Help me understand.

What is an example of un uninteractive and unnecessary twitter bullshit over here?

Sorry, this is my English tutoring or philosophy brain that was hammered into me by my old boss.
gusplatoon.bsky.social
That’s screaming into the wind.

Shouting into the void is the opportunity to release deepest emotions into an abyss.

There’s also shouting into the abyss which is the fear of being heard.

How do I know this…when I was an English tutor, I was taught by a German professor.

Droid, for the love of god, please stop putting words in my mouth 😭

When the heck did I say “useless”? On god, I’m going back to what I say to confirm it. I’m very careful with my words dude. You may be inferring that, fine but putting it in quotes indicates it’s direct evidence.

I’m ngl, games being $60 for 10+ years is pretty insane. It’s clearly good for consumers but businesses probably had to eat their margins when costs when up lmao.

I would not be surprised if GTA 6 is $80.

I might not know the whole situation but I’m posting this at least from a 3rd POV that the way it being discussed does not actually do anything. Bc this is not the first time Droid brought it to light. But nothing has changed. At least in a systems POV.
gusplatoon.bsky.social
Yes, and you shouldn’t. I’m not saying you should. Personally, I do not know the whole situation. I am no longer really involved with comp Splatoon tbh.

I only know of the incident 1 year ago on Twitter bc that’s when I still had twitter (I deleted it).

However, that’s why I said focus on the positive, not the good. There’s a distinction. What I mean by that is, you now have people in the community a bit more aware, that’s a positive.

How can I enact change so it lasts and doesn’t happen again? What can I change? What rules can be implemented?
gusplatoon.bsky.social
And to be also blunt, you might not be able to get the results you want. For example, I highly doubt you can change Nintendo’s stance. I’m also pretty confident Nintendo did their investigations and deemed it ok for him to play (I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with it) but that is the conclusion.
gusplatoon.bsky.social
And to be clear, I am not saying you do not have a right to voice your disagreement. It’s the same thing I told Droid. Feel however you want about the situation.

But think of strategies of how to improve things from a systems change perspective.
gusplatoon.bsky.social
That’s why I said focus on influence, not about control. It’s a mindset used in grassroots organizing. I am not commenting pulling shit of my ass, I am commenting because I have years of experience doing this in politics.

It’s power analysis. It’s power mapping.
gusplatoon.bsky.social
And to explicitly reply to your comment, the tweets work because they had follow up. Because they messaged org members directly. There was conversation.

And please, I’m literally not saying “be silence”. I am doing my best to say “there is a better way to go about things”
