It won't be easy, but you can't look at one of the foundation stones of the whole problem and just shrug and say "that's too hard". If we can't stop the global kleptocracy, we have to find a way for the money they siphon out of our country to be adequately taxed.

I'm unclear about the consequences of the Gaza deal. If it holds, do Israel's leaders get a free pass for their genocidal acts? How long will it have to last before their slate is wiped clean (longer than 9 days, I'd guess)? Or could they still be charged by the ICJ in any case?

You're right in that the changes we need are immense. But rebalancing taxation - and preferably also rebalancing INCOME, such as returning the ratio of CEO pay to average worker pay to something like it was 30 or 40 years ago - is a vital first step.

It's easy to forget that the evening is about family and friends, not the band. But for me, the only live option that's better than a DJ is a ceilidh or square dance band, so long as your family has enough personality to go for it. Everyone from grannies to toddlers can join in.

I watched my team in the old 4th division as a boy. I watched them get promoted to the Premiership. I quite like sitting down as I get older, and I don't miss having to dodge the streams of piss flowing down the terraces, but otherwise it's no more fun and certainly more stressful than the old days.

The hallucinations of AI are one thing. The hallucination by politicians and business leaders that computers have leapt from being dumb slaves to actually better than experts in a single bound, that this idea sausage is corporate haute cuisine, is far more worrying.

I was a Green member, but cancelled it when they didn't even bother to put up a candidate in my seat at a GE.
I'm wary of "charismatic" leaders, from Farage to Johnson, from Corbyn to Polanski, but the Green offer is looking very tempting as a throw of the dice in bleak times.
