to add on to this shadow gens is one of the best looking sonic games as of recent and i chalk it up to the animations being put on shadow, like they make him look cool as fuck in that game

in sa2's case in particular the models CAN look good but only with reanimation instead of the vanilla stuff which looks extremely mocapped to a negative extent
(sa1 doesn't really fit in here with how it's basically just neo classic sonic models but still)

like i know people like to hearken back to the sa1/2 designs saying how it was peak kino whatever but let's be entirely honest in that it was carried entirely by the artwork of those games instead of the models inside them

controversial sonic opinion: i think his current model in games looks fine all it needs is some tweaking to parts like his eyes but otherwise it's just kinda held back by animations for these characters being kinda static most of the time
