I've decided to use up leftover yarn by knitting @mochimochiland.bsky.social dinosaurs. Self-striping socks for the three nieces, accompanied by Ptara the Ptiny Pterodactyl from @knitrino.bsky.social, Tori the Tiny Triceratops, and Amy the Apatasaurus.

This shawl (@shanalinesdesigns.bsky.social's pattern #L'dorVaDor) is the first time I've actually knitted anything with my handspun! The pattern was meditative, with enough shaping and texture to keep me engaged. A glorious 50% camel / 50% silk (Abstract Fiber) I spun to a light 2-ply fingering.

The prickly pear is stunning this time of year.
Vibrant orange-red flowers show up vivid against the green of cactus paddles. Pollinators flit too quickly to be captured on camera but provide a buzzing audio.

Gwyn and I had a great time today at the Diamondbacks -Athletics Game in Mesa. We had excellent seats and the weather was perfect. It was a good game and the Hot Dogs were good.

Mark's skull illusion scarf by Cathy Munoz on Ravelry. Yarn is Cascade 220 in black and grey. Part of a scarf on a blocking mat with stripes of black and grey, each stripe 2 toes thick. Some points seem to be off, but it's unclear and mostly looks like a striped scarf. The same scarf, now with oblique lighting. Skulls appear in ghostly grey along the length of the scarf. Small Street Shawl by Noma Ndlovu (BiggerThanLife) on Ravelry. Cashmere / merino blend from 2025 Coraline advent from YarnBaby. A multicolored scarf with 24 Vs pointing in one direction. The fabric has an attractive puckered appearance due to changing needle sizes and sharp increases and decreases in each stripe. There are prominent bright red and yellow stripes, but the scarf is dominated by blues and purples, both variegated and tonals with colors smoothly transitioning from one stripe to the next.

I just got an email from NASA. All pronouns (she/her, they/them etc) will be automatically removed from any video conferencing, and email signatures have to follow a template that does not include pronouns. It also requires compliance with official government names. 🤬

I love a LYS with a canine greeter. Joyfully Stranded in Galveston, Texas has become an annual pilgrimage when I'm in town for a meeting. I really needed the mid-week snoot boop from Sugar. Of course, gorgeous indie dyed yarns and floof as well. 🧶#knitting #lys
