This might be biased but, I have the most fun on #hamradio on 2m/70cm repeaters. I love local comms. That's why I got in to radio in the first place was for evacuations in the event of fires or floods or earthquakes. Though, HF is great for SHTF when I'm unable to leave a shituation. Like Helen.

I finished it! My #3DPrinted #10inch #homelab is complete! Aside from a couple 12U posts from Amazon, this thing is fully printed and ready to rock! 6 Servers in a #ProxMox cluster with a #Synology for storage, and is still light enough (and strong enough) to be toted around if need be!

Man, I didn't like Discord for it not only being unencrypted, but not open source, and not self-hostable. So now, we got #Discord enshittification, just after #Reddit did the same thing, #Twitter / #X, #Meta, all ganging up to bring down #TikTok, I'm tired man. Stop killing the internet.

Some improvements to the #homelab #MiniRack, I #3Dprinted some rackmounts for the #mini-pcs, the switch, got a patch panel, and it even fits the #Synology NAS! I got some cheap 10U poles to make my own #10inch mini server rack! Now it just needs handles and stowage for the power bricks. And a box...

This is why I'll never move to #Meta. Everything takes forever to load, if at all.

So first Twitter becomes X, Reddit self implodes, and now TikTok gets banned... I just want somewhere to scroll while on the toilet. It ain't that big.

4 Lenovo Thinkcentres with a Protectli box in a #ProxMox cluster, a #Synology NAS for all files to be backed up. Each has 500gb SSDs to can manage most of their own stuff, but the NAS helps HA and backups.

Is #ProxMox capable of this? I want to make a server that is like a liveboot USB disk for Linux, where I can boot my desktop from a served OS, Each one saving files/installs to the server. Not like PXE, but like a thinclient, but using the local resources. Not the server. Is this possible?

This thing is freaking SMOL. Say hello to SMOL-NAS. My new shared storage for the little Mini-PC ProxMox cluster.
None of the MiniPCs had room for additional storage, so for VMs, CTs etc. I needed something they could all share. This is just about as big as those PCs and all fits on the same shelf!

So far so good! Migrating data over the network to spinning-disk HDDs to a #Synology #NAS for temporary hold while I get my servers set up for redundant file storage. Orig 30TB of old HDDs will be consolidated to 5 4TB SSD drives for 14TB total usable, with 8TB needed

Wish me luck! Removing a couple of drives from the pool. Always makes me nervous when I mess with critical data. But I need to make a redundant server to prevent future loss due to hardware loss. #DrivePool #Synology #NAS
