Shake 💦

Sweat Hearts, a 4-panel comic.

1. Huely and Gelle finish up their morning shower together. Huely wraps up toweling himself in the shower while Gelle rinses the suds from his clean fur.

“I’m gonna hop out and make us some breakfast.”

“Right on. I’ll be right behind you.”

2. Minutes later, Gelle, still sopping wet, steps out of the shower and makes his way to the kitchen.

3. “Something smells goooood!” Gelle is seen toweling his headfur, standing nude and dripping with water all over the kitchen floor.

“It’s—“ Huely begins to speak, facing away from Gelle. Not yet realizing the soggy state of his boyfriend.

4. As Huely spins around to present two plates of omelette, hash browns, and buttered toast, he’s overtaken by Gelle’s wet-dog shakes. Clean bathwater saturates his fur and their breakfast. Huely can only stand expressionless.

“—Wet.”

This concept came to me after having a discussion with friends about how we dry off in the shower. I’m in the camp of entirely drying off in the shower before stepping outside onto he bathmat. Most of my friends prefer drying off on the mat outside of the shower. It sparked the idea that Gelle never grew out of his method of drying off and Huely witnesses it for the first time in their relationship.

Why is it so hard for some people to be inclusive and kind?

Don't be a dickhead and remember that there's a "T" in "LGBTQ+". Reserve your hatred for those that want to divide us because they know that together, we are strong.

So if you have a problem with fellow trans community members, fuck off.

“Gelle? Do you think I sound gay?”

Panel 2: Huely’s body language shifts. Appearing more insecure.

“Not like—I don’t just mean the way I talk about things. I think your voice is SO rugged and smooth like a cigar wrapped in leather and sandpaper. I just worry that I might sound unattractive to you.”

Panel 3: The view shifts to a closeup of their meal as Huely continues.

“But, that’s not fair for me to say. Not about you, me, or anybody. Words have power, so it doesn’t really matter what I think my voice sounds like—It’s how I use it!”

Panel 4: “Thanks for talking this out with me, Gelle.” Huely relaxes, smiling at his lover. Gelle holds a seasoned fry up to Huely’s mouth, grinning at him before relaying a playful quip.

“And I think your voice sounds like french fries. Wrapped in cotton candy.”

Many of us may not like the sound of our own voice. Whether it’s the one inside or outside. How we decide to use use and even control it is what truly matters.

You might not like your voice now. But I hope that one day you find yours.

A ideia de ter perdido oportunidades de fazer algumas coisas no passado é algo que incomoda muito. De tempos em tempos esse sentimento vem, e é muito chato lidar sem pensar demais, ou me culpar por coisas que eu sei que estavam fora do meu controle, mas mesmo sabendo disso, eu acabo me culpando 🫠
