As our staff attorney Erik Crew said:
“TPS holders are lawfully here because they have done what U.S. laws and the Constitution have asked of them. The Supreme Court should affirm what the lower courts have made clear: TPS holders have followed the law, but the Trump administration hasn’t.”

Families who have lived here lawfully for years are being forced to live in fear of detention and deportation. Courts have already ruled the government’s actions illegal—yet the administration continues its attack.

“Haiti suffers not for what we lack, but for the audacity of our ancestors to liberate themselves in 1804,” said HBA’s Guerline Jozef. “Dessalines taught us freedom is non-negotiable. We refuse to let his vision die—we will resist & organize until Haiti is free from imperialism.”

September 20th, we celebrate the birthday of Jean Jacques Dessalines—the revolutionary father of Haiti & leader of the world’s first successful slave revolt—we honor his audacity, courage & belief in Black liberation. His triumph inspired oppressed peoples everywhere.

HAITIAN BRIDGE ALLIANCE DENOUNCES EXECUTIVE ORDER ENDING CASHLESS BAIL AS CRUEL ATTACK ON BLACK IMMIGRANTS – The Bridge

“By reviving cash bail, the administration intentionally targets Black immigrant communities—denying them freedom & dignity while enriching the bail industry.” — Guerline Jozef, Executive Director, Haitian Bridge Alliance
haitianbridge.bsky.social
The Trump administration’s new executive order abolishing cashless bail across the U.S is a direct assault on Black immigrant communities and the poor.

This just fortifies our justice system that incarcerates the poor while the affluent buy their freedom.
