Elder Millennial took up quilting in 2023 after attending the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Love the fabrics, the colors, the geometry. Love looking at a quilt to try to deconstruct how it was put together. Continuing to improve and try new techniques. Hope to design one some day

Made this #WindsorTote from a Lori Holt jelly roll. Pattern from Moda for Natl Jelly Roll day. Interesting technique where weave the strips together and then quilt it, so no actual piecing.

Can’t wait to take it to the class I am attending at Sisters Outdoor Quilt show #soqs

NGL, loving this feedback. Kinda wish I had a couple blocks that were wrong.
My OCD husband of course says, must fix…. But it’s not staying here. Plus it’s going to my kids after school teacher, been with her 6 years, kinda think she would love it

Accck. Taking a photo and then I see the mistake. Going to fix it as this is a gift.

Do you see it?

How do you get your seams so flat especially where there’s so much fabric?

Wildflower Quilt is completed! Part of Toad Circle’s Mystery Quilt Sew Along. I went “two tone” using some yardage I already had. The pattern allows for scrappy as well.
Inverted stars in a 4x4 grid. Each star’s center are rotated flying geese creating a pinwheel effect.

So good!! Do you have a pattern you are using?

Made for 11 yr old daughter, this quilt is Freya. Pattern: “A Piece of Quiet Quilts”. Fabrics: a mix of Kona and Michael Miller. Used Fireside in black on the black for a softer feel. This is one of my favorites as the shapes make some interesting “curves” due to the blocks being on point #quiltsky
Full view of quilt : Freya Zoom in on quilt to see the quilting up close. Swirly quilting over star shaped piecing Zoom in, not on point to see the blocks Zoom in on back and front of quilt

Some flying geese for the Toad Circle Mystery Sew-A-Long. We are given hints and an abstraction of how the fabrics will interact. I’ve gone “two tone” with one being this leftover beautiful folk & lore by Fancy That Designs and Kona Snow. Always fun to try to guess what the final pattern will be

Heh! Actually it’s using stripped piecing. Thank Jeebus. So 1.5 inch strips. There’s some sets of just two strips and other sets of 4 strips. And then cut into 1.5 sections. Finished squares are 1inch

Yep, it is! I did combine two together, it’s forming a fun surprise

What’s neat is the ALT TEXT is really spacious. I’m able to add more details there than the normal post allows

For quilting specifically, there’s a new My Quilts app that lets you track your quilts. There’s a social media element too of seeing others’ projects

I’ve completed her! Joplin, pattern by @toadandsew.bsky.social Definitely the most intermediate quilt I’ve done. I know there’s some oopsies but strove for finished versus perfect. i love it so much
Joplin quilt using Kona Solids: Slate, Shadow, fog, Snow, Silver, Overcast, Charcoal. Medallion style with chevrons and triangles

Gorgeous! Think it’s called a double wedding ring

That’s a fun pattern! I love how it can be rearranged in so many ways
