🔢 We reveal how the brain represents numerosity across the entire visual system, from early visual areas to high-level association cortices.

These matter b/c
1. Inform future visual pathway models
2. Raise questions about the brain computation, e.g, how it combines dynamic and static info
3. If the visual system's organization results from a single principle, our results favor downstream functional constraints over bottom-up feature maps

We found:
1. Both static and dynamic features are encoded across ALL visual pathways.
2. Distinct visual pathways represent overlapping as well as unique static and dynamic features.
3. Ventral and dorsal pathways share a similar posterior-to-anterior gradient in representing these features.

How is the representation of static and dynamic visual info organized in the visual system?
Challenge: static and dynamic info are correlated, and separating them requires designed artificial stimuli.
Our approach: We used ANN to investigate the representation of this info in videos, separately.
