Yeah, they're not too big on the pinky promises, after all.
A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

This man genuinely has no concept of what the average person knows or doesn't know. Magnets. Groceries. ID at the gas station. He is like a savant that isn't actually good at anything.

Unfortunately, all too true. Republicans are mostly, ultimately, evil, and Democrats are mostly, ultimately, spineless.
I’ve said this b4, but here’s a little inside baseball from a former Republican: Back in my GOP days, we Republicans would privately laugh at how Democrats would never go to the mat to win. We always knew Democrats wouldn’t fight to the death politically.
Last night proved Republicans right again.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

Mark Hamill described it as "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory", and I felt that was an apt description as well. It'd be nice to be able to actually enjoy some wins for a time before the next fuck-up. But I will say this - I have a feeling this may be the end of Schumer's political career.

A victory today. Possibly temporary, but a large victory at that. After last night's disastrous democratic caucus meeting, this is welcome news.
The Supreme Court has rejected a challenge to Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark decision which legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

The current average age of first time homeowners is 40. If they were to get a 50 year mortgage just to save a couple of hundred every month, then they will pay twice as much in the long run, and would not own their home free and clear until they are 90, if they live that long.
A fifty year mortgage means you will never own your own home. NEVER!

Fetterman's vote was to be expected, but Kaine's vote infuriates me, in particular. All of Virginia leaned blue in the election last week, which should have shown Kaine a mandate toward what we wanted. For him to give up like this is unforgivable.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Another SNAP fact - for every dollar in SNAP benefits provided, it creates $1.50 in benefit to the economy. Who knew that providing for your citizenry could actually be beneficial?

Another reason I'm glad we swept in Virginia. There is no logical or moral reason that someone convicted of a felony should lose the right to vote. Zero. Even those incarcerated.
I said what I said.

This has not gotten much attention, but it should.
Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.
Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

So his brilliant plan is to take the money that's currently going to the insurance companies, and give it back to the people, so that they can buy their own insurance . . . from who, exactly? Who do we buy the insurance FROM, Donnie?
His "concept" of a Healthcare Plan is finally revealed. It involves eliminating the Insurance Industry & people purchasing their OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE. Unrelated, note his obsessive envy of Obama, historically rated 1 of our finest presidents, who he still believes was born in Kenya.
