Morning! #BBCRadio3 Breakfast coming from London this week. It’s Proms Marathon Monday - what have been your favourite Proms so far?

SUMMER! Today’s Early Music Show @bbcradio3 has music for the wilting heat… When the storm breaks you need @erikbosgraaf - to whip up a Vivaldi-style storm but I went it alone though last year in Mantua when the heavens opened- my soggy sonic postcard for you too.

A musical giant with the tenderest touch, the great pianist Alfred Brendel has sadly died, aged 94. His performances will blaze in memory; his recordings will inspire for generations to come. He received the RPS Gold Medal in 1992, presented by fellow recipient Yehudi Menuhin.

Well there it was: ORLANDO GIBBONS Early Music Show on @bbcradio3. Would love to say I heard it but after my first day back directing a children’s choir this morning I’ve just slept through it. That’s what @bbcsounds is for… Stacks of great recordings of Gibbons out there! #gibbons400
