Wasn't feeling Tera's old design anymore, so I did an overhaul with a new reference sheet. Really liked the blunt bangs from the animation I did, so now she has those. Compare with the previous reference sheet from 2022. Next I ought to do some simple sketches to explore the new design.

Reference sheet of Tera's new design. She's a young woman, red eyes, hair dyed a deep purple with blunt bangs at eye brow level, an undercut and ponytail.

She has a number of facial and ear piercings. There's a septum ring and a barbel across the nose bridge. Her ears have various studs in the lobes and an industrial/scaffold piercing. She also has rings through the nipples.

Her body is covered in various tattoos. On her chest, running between her breasts is a horned head with a very long tongue wrapped around a sword. Beneath that, just below the inframammary fold is the alchemical symbol for sulphur, with lines radiating from its tip. On her stomach is one of those womb tattoos, in this case featuring tentacles. On her back is a large circumscribed heptacle, with the text "FORNICATRIX MONSTRIS" equally spaced around the circumference. Below that on her sacrum is a heart, seemingly made of barbed hooks. On her right shoulder is an image of the Bakunawa eating the moon, its long tail wrapping around her arm. On her left arm is an image of an opened pommegranate, tendrils worming their wait between the arils. Finally on her left hip is a chaos star, with some of the potruding arrows highly enlarged, so they run down her thigh.

For clothing, she wears a baggy boilersuit with hip vents. She's shown both with the boilersuit worn normally, and with the sleeves tied around the hips. Underneath she has atop shaped like a dudou or yếm with the colour of oxidized bronze, featuring a taotie pattern. On her feet she has a pair of sneakers.

She also has a half-mask respirator, with bright pink cartridges. She's shown with it hanging loosly around her neck, and on her face. WHile on her face, she also wears safety goggles and a baeball cap.

Older reference sheet of Tera. Here her hair is baby blue. She has large side combed bangs with shorn temples, instead of a full undercut. The hair on the back of her head is tied in a very short ponytail. Her piercings are a stud under the lower lip and barbells through the nipples.

For tatoos, her chest tattoo is instead a rapier or side-sword pointing down between her breasts. It's hilt surrounded by sereval crescent shapes while its blade passes through an inverted triangle. Below that, just below the inframammary fold is the alchemical symbol for black sulphur. The womb tattoo on her stomach is instead a highly abstracted ram's skull. On her back is a circumscribed pentacle, wrapped in the banches of a tree whose roots dangle just below. The thigh chaos star is the same.

For clothing, she has a bomber jack and sweatpants. the jacket has the text "MONSTER FUCKER" printed on the back. The sweatpants also have the large hip vents. Underneath the jacket is a green, loose cropped tanktop.

I made a followup of the previous image.

It's finally done. this took forever.

these two I made over 2 years ago now. I feel like I have improved in my rendering skills and anatomy since then, I find the compositions and high contrast lighting still hold up compared to my more recent work.

the most recent image I finished, about 2 months or so ago. While the perspective isn't very dynamic, I am pleased with how the scenery turned out.
