I had the amazing good fortune of having a pair of White-breasted Nuthatches claim the nest box we put up. They may use it again as a winter roost or to nest again. This is one of the chicks about a week after it fledged. 😍
A juvenile White-breasted Nuthatch clinging to the trunk of a small tree and peering at the camera from between some leaves. Its downturned yellow gape and scruffy appearance give away its juvenile status.

#Spotted I saw this Lark Sparrow over the summer despite its good camouflage. It also saw me. #BirdOfTheDay #Birds
