Vinyl record collector, cat dad, work at a university by day and a stereo store by night (or weekend). More than once I’ve filled my coffee maker with yogurt.

I know the finish line of my #harmas1001albums is only a few hills and corners away, but there are still some heavy hitters on the way, including this game changer from the Cure.

Daylight Savings Time has left me “Damaged”. I hate it so.

I’m apparently as grumpy as Henry Rollins this morning!

Their new album is going to be 🔥

In reality, this is their reaction to learning about adjusted breakfast hours after Daylight Savings Time.
A little late, but here’s your annual reminder to set your clocks “Dan Auerbach”.

Daylight Savings Time humour never gets old. I’ll show myself out!

The Black Keys, “El Camino”
Like much of our country, I became a nightly for last night’s Blue Jays heartbreak. They played their hearts out and while I’m sad and so, so very tired, it was still an incredible season.

Donald Fagen, “The Nightfly”

The Stevie Nicks “Bella Donna” Barbie is for our daughter. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
“Isn’t she pretty in pink?”

The Psychedelic Furs, “Talk Talk Talk”

I came to the Furs shockingly late in life when I picked up several of their albums for $1 a piece at a garage sale, but I’ve made up for lost time.

When I’m pumped up I spin some Motörhead. Here’s “Ace Of Spades”.

I’m melting this Thursday morning. Sure, it’s mostly because the steam boiler in our 80-year old building is now on, but also because I’m spinning Peter Gabriel’s 3rd solo album, affectionately known as “Melt”.

“All the things I could do, if I had a little money
It’s a rich man’s world”

October 29, 1979. I don’t often celebrate greatest hits anniversaries, but I will make an exception for one of the all-time greats.

ABBA, “Greatest Hits Vol. 2”
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, “Rust Never Sleeps”. And neither do I. #chronicinsomniachumour

(Actually, I slept better than usual last night)

Putting some pep in my step with Van Halen’s debut.

“I found the simple life ain’t so simple”

#harmas1001albums , 408/1001
Talking Heads, “More Songs About Buildings And Food”.
My body wisely chose to fall asleep at 10 pm last night, so I’m one of the only Jays fans to get a normal night’s sleep. A shame to have missed the epic. On the other hand I’ll be lucid for my afternoon presentation.

J. Edgar Cat knows. When you see a 1st pressing of Ice Cube’s “Death Certificate”, you buy it. Be like Edgar.
We got sound. We got vision. We got “Low”. We got Bowie.

#harmas1001albums , 406/1001
Now I got a reason, now I got a reason to spin “Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols”.

#harmas1001albums , 405/1001
Patti Smith, “Horses”

I got this off a lovely man who worked at a Toronto record store in the ‘70’s when this came out. If you look carefully there are some subtle clues it was the store’s promo copy.

Ian Dury, “New Boots And Panties!!”

I should have played this last weekend when we went thrifting (I picked up an original Dragonlance novel in amazing condition for $1.50).

32 years ago my Blue Jays last won a World Series and I went clubbing in my housecoat and pajamas in celebration. Rush’s “Counterparts” came out halfway through the series on October 18, 1993, and was my soundtrack to the final few games. Hope it brings the luck again. OK Blue Jays, let’s play ball!
Brian Eno, “Here Come The Warm Jets”

“Joyful” is not the first word that comes to mind when describing Brian Eno, but his first solo album brings so many happy feels.

#harmas1001albums , 402/1001
Neil Young, “On The Beach”

I feel this gets a bit overlooked in his insane ‘70’s run, but it makes an argument for the most upbeat depressing album in history.

#harmas1001albums , 401/1001
T. Rex, “The Slider”. #harmas1001albums , 400/1001

400 albums in and still a lot left in my collection, but it’s becoming easier to go more or less chronologically through the book which is why we’ve been living in the late ‘60’s-early ‘70’s recently.
Mama weer all crazee now this Thursday morning with Slade’s “Slayed?”.

What’s crazee is that I completely forgot I owned this until I saw it in the book.

Also, autocorrect knows me well and keeps changing “Slayed” to “Slayer”.

October 22, 1969. Happy 56th anniversary to Led Zeppelin II and a shoutout to the clerk at the stereo store where I bought my 1st cd player in 1989 who insisted I buy this CD at the same time.

Right as I dropped the needle on Neil Young’s “Harvest”, there was the loudest crash of thunder I’ve ever heard. Hopefully Uncle Neil’s tunes will lure the cats back out from under the bed.
