Sixers & Basketball talk for LibertyBallers.com

Man, the Refs have been a disaster tonight. Not even call wise, but just in terms of actually running the game.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker on a 4-year, $60M deal might be the best value contract in the league that isn’t a rookie deal.

It hasn’t been a pretty offensive night for PG, but he’s been incredible on defense. Five steals, and he’s made even more plays that don’t show up in the box score.
December 1, 2025 at 1:36 AM
Nick Nurse clearly signaled for a timeout before the clock ran out, but the refs didn’t give it to him. PG’s half-court heave hit the rim, and now it’s overtime. Refs can’t let that happen.

The Hawks have been really good this year even without Trae, but it’s a shame the Sixers won’t get the W tonight. They played three solid quarters only to waste it with about four scoreless minutes to start the fourth. Tough one.
December 1, 2025 at 1:23 AM
The Hawks defense has been great and they’ve had the Sixers puking on themselves in this fourth quarter. I’m not taking anything away from them, but I’m still shocked at Tyrese Maxey’s whistle in Year 6. He plows into guys and gets nothing. Wild.

I really like the way Quentin Grimes has played most of this game. The perimeter shot hasn’t been there, so it’s been drive after drive, and it’s paid off. It’s led to a lot of good results.

Man, seeing Andre Drummond get taken to the locker room in a wheelchair after that hyperextension was tough. He’s been playing so well this season and really quieted a lot of the criticism. Hopefully it’s nothing serious and he’s back soon.

Beyond thankful the Eagles won a chip last year, because the Philly sports landscape is looking *rough* right now

Ben Simmons seems to approve of the idea of him joining the Maxey, VJ, PG, Embiid grouping.

First look at the SKX JE1 — Joel Embiid’s new signature shoe with Skechers. The official launch is just days away, but here’s a peek at a few colorways and some of the finer details. Looks like it’s rocking a Goodyear sole, too.

I will say, it’s pretty ironic that the NBA put together this whole elaborate tournament with flashy (and ugly) courts just to get players to care more about regular-season games. And then you have the Sixers, who somehow manage to play worse in these types of games every time.
November 26, 2025 at 3:22 AM
At this point I’m used to the weirdness regarding Embiid and the injury report, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the NBA says something about Paul George going from probable to out in the span of hours. Especially for a nationally broadcasted cup game.
Updated Sixers injury report for tonight's game:
- Joel Embiid: OUT (previously questionable).
- Paul George: OUT (previously probable).
- Tyrese Maxey: AVAILABLE (previously Probable).

Kelly Oubre Jr, VJ Edgecombe and Adem Bona remain out.

2,000 words on the early Delaware Blue Coat returns. Whose stock is trending up? Whose is crashing? And which names should the Sixers be taking a serious look at? All that and more answered in the first of many Blue Coat check-ins!

Sketchers Basketball and Joel Embiid put out this teaser, for what presumably is a signature shoe launch slated for next week.

Hard to win without three starters, but the same issues keep showing up every night:

– stagnant offense with lazy half-court sets
– soft fouls at the rim that lead to way too many and-one’s
– getting buried in the third quarter
November 23, 2025 at 8:22 PM
The Sixers, somehow, are minus -113 in the third quarter on the year. And yes, that’s dead last in the NBA.
November 23, 2025 at 7:53 PM
At this point I think we can assume that this team is never going to try in the third quarter. Like it’s the one guarantee of every Sixers game. Truly baffling.
November 23, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Jared McCain’s really starting to find his footing. Up to 7 points on the half and is moving around much better without that massive brace.
November 23, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Just listened to Lowe on this, and apparently teams are being uber cautious with calf stuff since the Haliburton injury. Right move by the Sixers, imo.
Sixers SG VJ Edgecombe (left calf tightness) will miss today’s game vs. the Miami Heat at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Credit to Harden — didn’t think he had this in him at this point, and I’m assuming the Sixers didn’t either.

Still think it worked out for all: he’s a featured player, the Sixers have yet to reap the best stuff from the trade, and those years with Harden helped Maxey make the leap
Final: Clippers 131, Hornets 116. James Harden - 55 points (franchise record).

Johni Broome delivered his best performance as a pro last night for the Blue Coats, posting 30 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and a block in 34 minutes. He shot 13-of-23 from the field and 4-of-7 from three.
November 22, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Tyrese Maxey with a 50 point performance. His career-high is 52.
November 21, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Paul George has played a ton of “power forward” tonight with these three-guard lineups and has blended in tremendously. He has 21 pts (7/12 FG, 4/7 3PT), 5 rebs, 3 asts, and a steal in 23 mins. His shooting/shotmaking without sacrificing size/defense has been a welcome addition.
