been a bit miserable today so double carbed it with five spice perfumes fried chicken and a Thai red curry sauce of green beans and mixed winter toms from Cyprus. delicious. I feel renewed. well, ready for an early night 😊

a rewind on the smoked salmon and ikura with the lemon zest horseradish cream. much preferred this waved in a toasted bagel. the richness offset by the carbs and making for a breakfast sandwich that was succulent and delicious.

fakeaway vibes tonight with wings in a sticky sweet soy ginger sauce, with steamed broccoli in an oyster sauce, egg fried rice. proved a massive hit with everyone.

leftover asian style glazed salmon with quinoa and broccoli in a sesame soy sauce. delicious and healthy.

crisp fried some gnocchi in butter and garlic to go with that pot roasted chicken. made a sauce from a forgotten block of beaufort d’alpage and whipping cream. a delicious funk that worked well with the smoked bacon. sweet cabbage and carrots for health.

two packs of bok choy blanched in boiling water then stir fried for about a minute with garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce and shaoxing wine. really delicious with last night’s glazed salmon. would be a lovely light lunch on with some rice 🍀

rewind and come again: avo, lime, salt, chilli, smoked salmon trimmings galore, winter tom and some crushed black pepper. I’m serving with a pot of freshly ground Monmouth coffee 😋

stuffed toasted bagel with sliced avocado on fresh lime, salt, chilli. then topped with winter tomatoes and smoked salmon trimmings. got a kg of them from Goldstein’s for £20. so delicious and packed with healthy oil. would have been cream cheese but had run out. this is better. much more delicious.

buttermilk brined thighs deep fried in a five spice crust on a red thai curry sauce. only had the black narone rice but it worked really well with a nutty vibe. this was so delicious.

you just cannot top the pressure cooker jus. had used up all stick last night so went with a glass of breton cider and three cloves of garlic. the pressure turns that into an unctuous broth. so good with the bacon and mushroom.

well the good news is that dinner was lovely: chicken and chickpea casserole with butter fried gnocchi and green beans with some nuggets of calabrian sausage in whose rendered fat the chicken started its journey.

buttermilk brined wings for first time this year. made a hoisin sauce to dip. served with stir fried green beans in a black bean and garlic sauce. delicious and welcome after a tiring cycle back from the Hackney Wick saunas in the driving rain 😋🌶️☔️

standard Sunday fare chez hass: pressure cooker pot roast. red cabbage because it’s been sulking since dropping out of Christmas rotation, broccoli for greens, wee spuds to soak up the pressure cooked jus. got the spot.
