When this song came out, I always thought it might be about Dick Cheney. Feels a bit anticlimactic actually. #tmbg

Oh wow. I just waved “thank you” to a car that let me cross the street only to realize it was a driverless taxi!

We don’t have them thar robots in the sticks.

When the Beatles Anthology came out in 1995, I really got into the Beatles music, but I concluded that the documentary was boring because I wasn’t really interested in their lives.

Today I just finished a 1,000-page biography by @marklewisohn.bsky.social that ends in 1962 BEFORE they hit it big.

“Intuition is a wonderful thing of course, but it should be followed with caution. For instance many people who visit Las Vegas intuitively believe that they can beat the odds. Their intuition pays for a number of vast hotels which are owned by people who’ve actually done the maths.”

@danielgalarcon.bsky.social Every time someone with a new point of view came along on The Good Whale, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly. That’s some great reporting, writing, and even songwriting there. Thank you for exploring the story of Keiko in depth. I learned so much from this.

The smallest thing I learned in 2024 was that if you use your debit card at the gas station, you get the “cash” price that’s on the big sign out front, saving a few bucks.

More useful knowledge not worth passing onto my progeny because it will (hopefully) be obsolete by the time it is needed.

Every time I watch John Oliver on my phone, those little dots on his backdrop make me think I can swipe through 4 different videos… or even swipe through to a different reality.
