and obv madoka is by no means an evil or mean character (she is seen as a pillar of kindness time and time again) its just the complexity of the situation and world they live in

even if it was not madokas intent, it was an unfortunate act of cruelness because them simplying dying together as witches in that timeline would've been nicer than the 12 year cycle + the build up of madokas fate

you cant ever get me to think any character in pmmm is inherently evil or worse than others bc theyre all complex but my fav example of this is the cruelty of madoka lying and saving homura with a grief seed only to basically ask homura to dedicate her entire being to saving her (madoka)
