I feel like the smiley face killer is like anonymous. people graffiti them everywhere, people die in bodies of water because they’re drunk/silly/suicidal and now it’s almost a free pass to either die and make it look like you were killed or kill someone and make it look like someone else did it.

we have decades of misconceptions around mental illness now, largely due to presumptions based on rare but horrific events.
we also have so much history of inadvertently ignoring/dismissing violent behaviour we could be preventing by deeming it monstrous or inhumane.

why is it glorifying violent people vs calling them evil?
