No, the Absolute Universe, or whatever they are calling it, is not official in any way. Hawkman is not officially evil. If they wipe out the mainstream universe and leave this one, then fine. But it's "Goodbye DC" for me.

No, the Absolute Universe, or whatever they are calling it, is not official in any way. Hawkman is not officially evil. If they wipe out the mainstream universe and leave this one, then fine. But it's "Goodbye DC" for me.

As a Hawkman fan, I'm not buying the comic to enjoy a good story. I'm having to buy it to see how much damage is being done to my favorite character so I can hope that a better writer will pick up the pieces after it's over. Nothing about this is rock 'n' roll cool. Just my humble opinion.

For the record, I have intense irritation with what DC Snyder and company have done to Hawkman. It's going to take a Vegita/Piccolo-esque 180 turn around for me to ever come close to accepting what this Absolute thing did to my favorite character.

None of this interests me. I don't think DC Comics has a place for fans like me anymore. November 2020 was the final chapter maybe. Time I accept it.

Been doing Hawkworld for over ten years now. The last Hawkman series was over five years ago. DC' use of Hawkman is maybe at it's worse ever. There's always a mountain after a valley, but starting to wonder how long this valley is. I don't see a mountain but I'm starting to see a sunset.

I stopped reading the Absolute stuff after Absolute Evil, but somebody posted the ending of the last DC KO issue.
So after all that, the last four are Superman, Wonder Woman, Joker (???), and Lex Luthor, and then the Absolute versions show up with Batman front and center.
Color me shocked.

Hopefully, there will come a time when comics fans get tired of gimmicks, soon-forgotten characters built on steroids, unfinished ideas, and shallow stories with a shiny cover. Hopefully, writers who respect the characters and fans with constructive stories will return.

As a Hawkman fan, I have to keep reminding myself to embrace the good, as little as it is these days, and ignore the bad. Which means I'll have to ignore this Absolute stuff everyone seems to falling over themselves for.
