We condemn gun violence — regardless of who pulls the trigger or who is harmed.

Proud to stand with the students! Enough is enough. Thoughts and prayers aren’t solving the crisis of gun violence and it’s way past time for our legislators to act.

💜 September is Suicide Prevention Month.
In Indiana (2018–2023), suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among youth ages 10–14 and 20-24, and the 10th leading cause of death overall. Firearms were used in 58% of suicides among youth and young adults ages 10–24.

Let’s fact-check some common beliefs about guns and public safety. 🛑🔍

Data and research show the safest communities combine prevention, intervention, and evidence-based policies—not more guns. 💡

Mass shootings account for only 1% of all gun violence in America.
The horrific tragedy in Minneapolis is a heartbreaking reminder of the toll of mass shootings. But we must also remember the everyday gun violence that devastates families and communities across the country, every single day.
hcgvindiana.bsky.social
🚨 Firearms are the leading cause of death for children in Indiana.
In 2023, 81 children ages 1–17 died from firearm-related injuries in Indiana—more than motor vehicle accidents, cancer, poisoning, or congenital conditions. 💙

After a tragedy, the questions always come:

“What if we’d seen the signs?”
“What if we’d done more?”
“What if we’d locked it up?”

Don’t wait for the what-ifs. Store guns locked, unloaded, and out of reach. These simple steps can help save lives.
