Enten: "This is probably the worst 10 day period for the president in the polls his entire second term. The numbers are just atrocious ... when your best poll has you 14 points underwater, you know it's truly bad and it's as bad as 26 points underwater ... -43 with independents! They despise him."

Good morning! This action from the administration will not make America healthier. The intent is to make state and local officials into supplicants.

Who are the career officials that are executing this? This is is not a change in priorities. It’s an effort to dismantle and undermine the system.

Why is this news? Just asking @nytimes.com for some clarification, because the tokens that it might be deserved
Or at least legitimate to want such an accolade. Most who receive such an honor do not seek it because they are too busy pursuing peace and the betterment of humankind.

Perhaps a Schumer is correct, and a shutdown would be worse. But surely his GOP colleagues agree that stopping Doge is in their interest. Acquiescing to the CR fails to give them cover to do what’s right.

@maryharris.bsky.social I enjoy your podcast and appreciate the political analysis in the 3/13 episode but you are wrong about how social security works. It is not an investment. workers do not “get back” what they put in. It is a contract between generations to care for older and disabled people.

Had to change the channel when Lawrence O'Donnell pronounced it "Chut-Spah", making Chut rhyme with Foot, and CH- as in CHoose. Almost as bad as Joyce Vance's odd way of pronouncing meshuga. Oy vey.

I do not require absolute consistency in elected officials. I strongly prefer that they have a moral core and set of values. I would choose Bill Clinton over any Republican president. Remember that it was Republicans who tortured prisoners & created an immoral & permanent detention center.
