Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) can be an important part of a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Yet for many students with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), their BIPs prove to be ineffective. This session will explore how to create BIPs that utilize brain-based approaches to support students with behavioral challenges. Participants are welcome to bring copies of their student’s current BIP to discuss ways to shift the language to support an understanding of the student’s brain-based disability. The terms "Baseline" and "Present Level of Performance" are often referred to interchangeably. There are, however, important distinctions between the two terms; they are not synonymous.

FASD Knowledge Share Collective Thursday, April 10th, 2025 1:00PM – 3:00PM PT An open space to share what you are doing in the field of FASD, discuss potential interests and ideas regarding recent developments in our states/territories/local areas, interstate, international, or cross-organizational collaborations, and any other ideas for sharing what has or hasn’t worked, challenges we've experienced, and how we can learn from one another. The intention is to promote immediate networking and successful connections that can then be furthered through individual collaborations after or in-between Knowledge Share meetings. Please share this information with anyone you feel may be interested. The more states and territories and countries represented, the more we all learn!
