Let me show you something

A work by British artist Banksy – created just after Kyiv region was de-occupied and later nearly stolen in Hostomel – is now kept in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

Next to it is an 11th-century graffiti caricature from the Dormition Cathedral.

Budget 2025.

The wealthy hardly hit.

Minor tweaks on dividend and mansion tax.
No wealth tax.
No alignment of taxes on dividends & capital gains tax with taxation of wages.
Partnerships won't pay NIC on partners' share of profits
No financial transactions tax.

Lobbying and political donations pay

Cutting schemes like ECO with no plan to replace them will not help the 6.1 million households living in fuel poverty.

Liberal Democrats want a fully funded long term Warm Homes Plan to cut bills and keep people warm.

This was a botched Budget by a Chancellor who’s diagnosed the disease but won’t administer the cure.

Despite promises to cut the cost of living and grow the economy, the Government still refuses to fix our trade relationship with Europe and repair the £90bn Brexit black hole.

Today's Budget should have been a turning point for the UK economy. Instead the Government avoided the single biggest thing we could do to turbocharge economic growth - fixing our broken relationship with Europe and closing the estimated £90 billion Brexit black hole.

👀 So while all eyes were on the budget, Ministers just slipped out their North Sea Future Plan. While it’s good to see them stick to manifesto pledge not to grant new licenses, it’s a shame to see approval of “tiebacks” to existing fields - unnecessary concession that undermines climate messages

UK govt wants jury trials scrapped except for rape, murder, manslaughter or cases passing a public interest test.

What would toff judges do to protesters against bad laws, environmental and other issues.

Bad choice by a govt led by a human rights lawyer.
Justice secretary wants most jury trials scrapped
Only cases of alleged murder, rape or manslaughter will be decided by a jury under new proposals to cut court backlogs.

Michael Gove was its co-convener & refused to answer a single q. He’s now a judge of the prize & our world is truly one that Orwell would recognise

Exactly!🤔
This govt has been in power for over a year yet there’s been little if any communication about progress in these areas.
Imho if members of the HoL breach rules e.g Lord’s Dannatt & Evans plus those mentioned here, why isn’t there a mechanism for kicking them out?😡
Why is Mandelson still in the House of Lords?
Michelle Mone too?
What about Labour's vow to investigate and clamp down on the corruption that occurred during COVID? Remember £37 Billion wasted -Test and Trace?

🔥 Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study quantifies it:

A 6–8% hit to GDP

That's £180bn-£240bn a year

It means less tax revenue and so less money for everything.

Brexit made Britain MUCH poorer.
