The In Bloom Collection launches Monday 4/14.

Summer always arrives. In the coldest, darkest, sometimes most hopeless feeling of times, the most fragile hope and beauty will always still bloom, from every vein of land, until it becomes an overwhelming force of nature.

My background before art was clinical laboratory science research in an HLA lab at Stanford, followed by 10+ years in biotech. Does anyone know if Canada is fast tracking personnel with medical lab experience in their expedited entry for medical personnel? Interested in learning more about this.

I quit my corporate career because I’m meant to be painting full time and I was tired of contributing to the US rat race.

We can not have a healthy society, while we choose money above all else.

There is light in this country. Wonderful diversity of humans and ecosystems. We must fight for it.

Up on the easel. A dose of calm, order, and a serving of resistance.
Underpainting in.

‘Art is not an escape, but a way of finding order in chaos’.

I’ve been pondering light and searching for gratitude, even in the darkest of moments.

In honor of light, gratitude, the work of Gaudi and Caravaggio, and the glorious light of the Pacific Northwest, I’ve decided on my February collection theme:

‘In Search of Light'

Light in the Pacific Northwest. It is magic. I wish I could bottle it up and give it to every soul that needs it right now.

This light binds so many, diverse people in the upper right of North America. If you are scared right now, you are not alone. I see you. I’m sending you love from Seattle.

I painted this from a massive storm at Deception Pass, WA. Waves roaring in.

I wondered if the gulls floating so still on the wind gusts were playing, or hunting those creatures in the waves who are at a disadvantage in the storm. (1/2)

Work in progress. Rosario Beach, WA near Deception Pass. Over here elbows deep in trying to create light.

You will find me in my studio, painting light in a world that desperately needs light more than ever. The kind of light that breaks your soul open. Light that reminds you there is so much more to the world than hate.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

My work is inherently political. All art is. The person we are, the belief systems that we hold as artists, shape how, what, and why we create.

Welcome to everyone who has moved over here. This is my work. I paint the Pacific Northwest and I believe:

The Whispers of Winter Collection is live. I know today is heavy, I thought about not launching this today, but the world needs art. It has always needed art, especially in the darkest of times.

I stay, I stand, I dissent.
