The House just unanimously passed legislation I authored to repeal a last-minute provision that lets senators cash in—up to $500,000—for legally obtained phone records. It’s a wrong-headed cash grab. The Senate needs to end it.

What gives me hope is the breadth of the coalition that came together last year to stop the public lands sell-off. People across the spectrum came together and stepped up.

While Trump is focused on Iran, Greenland and Venezuela, his tariffs and de facto moratorium on renewable energy permits are raising the cost of housing, groceries, and energy.

Instead of working to lower costs, Senate Republicans are using one of the first committee hearings of 2026 to push for a nationwide medication abortion ban, despite mifepristone’s safety and efficacy. We should be delivering for Americans, not rolling back women’s rights.

In case you missed it: Senate Democrats tried to stop a Trump Administration rule from raising health care costs, and Republicans blocked us. The folks stuck paying the price will be working families.
