Final year PGR and Research Assistant at The University of Birmingham.
Singer, Songwriter and Musician.

Researching the value of student-led research as a model of SEND student voice. Interested in all things accessible and collaborative.
I really enjoyed facilitating the 'Mapping the Wave' creative research methods workshop yesterday at the University of Sheffield. PGRs and ECRs from different disciplines explored this method and thought about how they might use it in their own work. Thanks to the PRN for hosting me.

Time for more music! Wrote this twenty something years ago when I was twenty something... Still as relevant now! I should really listen to myself 🤣 Listen to Can I Stop by Varyingdegreesofhelen on #SoundCloud

Another logo. This time it's for a Community of Practice for 'SEND' educators involved in 'student voice', and who want to co-develop student-led approaches - be that running accessible 'students as researchers' initiatives or simply supporting students to initiate conversations with each other.

Playing with logo designs tonight on Canva - and then PowerPoint (as Canva didn't want to do small case for some reason)... I quite like this one. It's to 'stamp' onto resources I'm making.

Well, a shift has happened. Blue sky is a bit nice... Actually, Blue Skies was the name of my 1st band. So, here's one of my songs: Shift Happens (live). I thought of being other aspects of Helen Evans to this platform 🤠Listen to 02 - Shift Happens by I am Sam on #SoundCloud

02 - Shift Happens
Inspired by a room where guests were encouraged to write/draw on the walls, and a night spent reading the messages and wondering about their authors.

Always good to have an automatic reminder to use Alt Text. Great feature!

There is a setting you can turn on that *will* require it when you post an image! It's located in Accessibility Settings.

I'm currently on an ESRC-funded Academic Placement at The University of Sheffield under the temporary supervision of Prof Dan Goodley and Dr. Lauren White. Amongst other things, I have been creating resources on accessible research practice. Each week, my hotel room has a different feature wall. 👍🤩👍
