Delicious! Used celery fronds instead of capers, managed to find orzo & even remembered the basil leaf! I will be making these again.

Explored the remaining section of the #OakhamCanal with John. Started in the town centre then out to the countryside where the canal is still visible. Loads of really interesting information about the history of the town, canal and people via the audio walk.

Easy to make, delicious & perfect size. Made an extra one with oil, salt & rosemary (added after baking). I'll definitely be making these again

Had a fab visit to Southport parkrun with John and all the #CowFest 🐮tourists. A twisty 3 lap route around this lovely park & lake passing the observatory & playground. We stayed for breakfast in the café too. Many thanks to all today's volunteers - it was busy.

For me Rachel's sausage ragu is a go to as is any version of minestrone, tomato sauce with meatballs & a chicken thigh traybake. Will try the Neapolitan mashed potato cake.

Found fresh lasagne sheets which fitted the dish perfectly. Easy to make & tasted very cheesy & delicious. Had it for dinner & there's enough left for next day reheat too!

So sad to read of the death of the great Robert Redford. To me he will always and forever be Paul Bratter alongside Jane Fonda's Corie in the glorious Barefoot in the Park. Will definitely watch this film again once we are back home.

Drove from Lough Key to Donegal Town with John. We somehow managed to join the Cannonball '25 cavalcade of cars from Sligo to Bundoran. Not sure a six year old Peugeot Rifter actually makes the grade though!

Had a lovely linear walk on the #NewryCanal with John from Portadown to Poyntzpass. Plenty of rural views, Point of Whitcote where the Rivers Bann & Cusher meet the canal, locks, Moneypenny's forge, Scarva wharf & Lough Shark. Gorgeous sunny weather too.

Started our holiday with a lovely short linear walk on the #ShropshireUnionCanal from Tiverton to Barbridge with John. Rural views, an iron lock & lots of historic canal infrastructure. We even got to help 2 boats in the staircase locks. Stopped for tea at Calveley Mil café.

I used coley, omitted the capers & added celery fronds. Had it with buttered potatoes and I even made my own aïoli to go with it. Turned out perfectly - "a Turkish bath for food".

Day 5: Final #GrandUnionCanal #PaddingtonArm walk from Alperton to #PaddingtonBasin with John. Old & new industry, lots of moored boats, a towpath closure detour around Kensal Green cemetery, through Little Venice & the turn to the #RegentsCanal.
