Podcast hosts Daniel and Alex, despite it being in the foyer of hell, made this a perversely enjoyable chat. But what did I choose as my songs from
Hell, and why? @hellishpod.com

Here’s your Thursday picture quiz from the demons of Hellish. Can you work out four of the tracks @whenisbirths.bsky.social will meet in Hell from these visual hints?

As with every week, they’re easier if you’ve listened to the pod. podfollow.com/hellish

If anyone gets all four of these without hearing the episode we will be very impressed.

After the world’s longest hiatus, my TV nostalgia podcast - The Box of Delights - is coming back for a real actual series of new episodes. And you don’t have long to wait!

I think deep down some of the grifters we have know this, but it's useful to them to peddle the lie that we all have to do the same thing, and be the same person.

When I was writing the new book - because tbh, the 80s was a hard decade for me at times - I kept coming back to the inescapable truth that what kept me going was: books, TV, comedy, radio, films sometimes, but above all music. That stuff's not frippery, it's how you become the person you are.

‘Into the Groove’ by @whenisbirths.bsky.social is full of fascinating 80s pop facts. But one fact you won’t find in there is the truth about Justin’s ‘cameo’ in Elton John’s ‘Nikita’ video - luckily he told us all about it!

I have been sent to hell. But - swings and roundabouts - at least I got to talk to Daniel Whelan and Alex Gale on their fab
podcast Hellish (@hellishpod.com) about my songs from hell and got to plug my new book on 80s pop history, #IntoTheGroove.

To those asking, I'll check and see if showing Nightshade's earlier Gargoyle design is possible but might have to wait till after the whole series is finished airing.

Ciro Nieli, art director for that block of eps, took the lead on the final Nightshade, so the finished design is down to him!

Seeing as Nightshade from Transformers: Earthspark is catching attention again, here's some of the work I did on the character. There was an earlier version of them that had been finalised and approved, but the writers wanted a new alt mode; their earlier disguise was a 'Gargoyle'!
Preliminary Concepts of the character Nightshade for the animated show: Transformers Earthspark. Some are drawings of basic body shapes for their robot mode, others are explorations of their owl alt mode Concepts for Nightshade's head and face, trying to retain owl elements on their robot mode. Explorations on how to make the owl wings function in robot mode, and how it would affect the figure's shapes. Multiple views of Nightshade's Owl alt mode, ultimately unused in the final show. And a look at their side profile and back details.

One thing I WON'T have at Thought Bubble is New Scarenthood. Since last year's show, I've managed to get all rights back (YAY!) and move it along in lots of significant and unexpected ways!

The actual 2nd volume and new home for Vol 1 though? To be finalised. (Let's talk?) BUT! Here's a promo!
The characters from Scarenthood, standing in a row. Jen in Roller Derby outfit, Flynno flying a drone, Sinead filming the viewer on her phone and Cormac looking at the broken Virgin Mary Statue's head in his hand. Beside him hovers the demonic undead cub scout, The Big Boy. The text reads: "You'd sell your soul for decent childcare. SCARENTHOOD: MOTHERFOLKLORE by Nick Roche and Chris O' Halloran".

Ha! The best thing? The 'Six' logo was designed by my best friend, who also designed the Scarenthood logo! Tiny, tiny world!

(Also, Six and Matt Cardle are in Ireland's top five selling records?!)

This banger came up on this week’s show with @nickroche.bsky.social , so we thought you’d all appreciate the remarkable picture of Rod that adorns the CD single.
