Introduction.
Since 2014 I've been using Excel to create math art. Post-processing in Krita.
3D Phi spiral with golden cubes. Star spiral rose progression. Ornamental knots created through trigonometric parameterization. Edwards-venn diagram.

A Pappus Chain. An Arbelos-related chain of tangent circles between two tangent circles created with an inversion of a chain of circles between two parallel lines.

Parquet deformation based on hexagons. By gradually changing the size of triangles within each hexagonal tile a fading geometric pattern can be made. Sections made in Excel; colored and assembled in Krita.

On the left is a hexagonal geometric pattern that gradually changes configuration from left to right. On the right is a tile diagram.

I plot the lines in a chart that I then enlarge and export as a PNG. I can change the ribbon width and the symmetry by entering the new values into a cell, which is referenced by formulas.

I figured out a much faster method than using the brush to erase pixels! I start by color filling the square ribbons then use edge detection. The lines come out a little less precise but you can't see it on the sized image. Created with Excel and Krita.

I learned it is actually called parquet deformation.

I was calling this geometric fade but I learned it is actually called parquet deformation.
A parquet deformation based on squares. Created in Excel and Krita.

Ok I asked on Facebook in the group Mathematical tiling and Tessellation and they say it's called "parquet deformation."

Removing the lines so the squares appear interlocking can be quite a puzzle and more akin to pixel art than geometric art.

Pattern block play! #21CenturyPB #iTeachMath
The image shows a twelve-sided shape created with 21st Century Pattern Blocks. It was built by arranging 6 rectangles and 6 equilateral triangles around a central regular hexagon with each side of the hexagon measuring 2*sqrt(3) inches. The design uses blue rhombuses, teal kites, gray darts, and pink triangles.

2D circle inversion fractals on the spherical surface. This was a fun offshoot of my recent Apollonian endeavours, again using the Riemann sphere mapping to go from 3D to 2D for the iterations.

Dr. Edward Ivans, multiverse traveler, host to alien symbiote
On his travels through the multiverse Dr. Edward Ivans accidentally picked up an alien symbiote that took the place of his right eye. Anchored outside the skull, the symbiote is connected to the brain, feeding on neurotransmitters in exchange for providing enhanced and otherworldly perceptions. Unknown to Dr. Ivans the symbiote is a splintered essence of an ancient being of enormous size and power, using its offspring to spy on other worlds and eventually invade them with its armies.

The Seer Symbiote

An alien that replaces an eye and feeds on neurotransmitters in exchange for providing enhanced and otherworldly perceptions. Secretly it's a splintered essence for an ancient cosmic being named Lo'oxo'loji, bent on invading other worlds.

I haven't created a full illustration like this in ages. It's more work than my math art, but I'm finally creating the art I've always wanted to.

An elf and two faeries standing on a tree stump.

While exploring a distant continent Boma Gamathan's airship was caught in a storm and crashed. He found himself in the company of faeries who helped him to survive and piece together his ship.
