The first step to undermining control of an autocratic movement is to emphasize virtues in media and capture the attention of the youth. Creatives that glorify vice normalize it. Think about how many characters you see or read that dig their heels in on their positions and don't compromise for ex.

It's a clever book series that got turned into a movie so they can pretend to be cultured when they got the cliff notes version. Musk was about 30 when it released, Thiel 34. In 2003 Palantir, a LOTR reference. Prior to that it was generic boring business names. No evidence they read the books.

I'm adding this conversation into my chapter about obstinance, and people's inability to get over black and white thinking from childhood. Refusal to entertain plausibilities makes people comfortable, so they need to dismiss as many as possible.

Instead of cash crops overseas. Everyone can begin planning to support local communities rather than expect a global market for their product. Teachers can emphasize ethics over accumulation of wealth.

It absolutely is practical because you can make plans accordingly based on the most plausible scenarios. That's how The human mind is supposed to work. See a problem, adapt to fix a problem. In this case it just lacks actionable items. Like if you're a farmer, attempt to shift to local prod.

Conspiracy is a tool used to dismiss legitimate concerns. All that needs to be done is add a few truly insane things in the mix and they all get lumped together. For example, if one were to put the MK Ultra experiments out in public today, it would be dismissed as conspiracy. Taint the pool.

Newspapers are the voices of the controlling interests. Public Relations (Propagandists) are 7:1 to Journalists. They are also paid massively more. Noam Chomsky's book Manufacturing Consent does a good job of pulling the veil off and exposing news as simply mouthpieces of the oligarchy.
