Stupid idea:

Magic in KB that forces two people to do a stupid, tacky porn scenario to be freed of it. Pizza delivery, room you can't leave until you fuck, etc. The twist? It only works on couples that already bone.

The magic system was also hugely inspirational to me. It's almost programmatic and requires a bunch of calculations and materials. Plus, the AMOUNT of magic ability is limited. Each wizard starts with a set amount and will never have more, only less. So the young do the stuff and the old guide.

The main characters meet all kinds of aliens who use magic too! It feels like their collective fight against the Lone One (entropy, essentially) is far, far larger than anything happening on earth. But at the same time, every bit of resistance against entropy matters, no matter how small.

God, I love space and astronomy... I don't care much for sci-fi, but incorporating magic into the exploration of space? Hell yeah. I have the "So You Want to Be A Wizard" series to thank for that, I think. It gripped my imagination so hard so see magic being used to explore outer space.

Retrospective

I did a pretty good job with the descriptions and characterisation of the unnamed female PoV. Especially describing the roots and comparing them to the bonsai tree.

Some sentences were run-ons. I should be more mindful of not trying to cram too much into them.
