sprinklers probably wont make that much a difference in facilitating occupant escape vs working smoke alarms and a window, while increasing the risk of damage. requiring them in attached garages probably makes some sense.
that's whats required to be recorded by the fire safety act.
Door Closers fail. Fire pumps fail. people put holes in fire separations. Every argument for single stairs can be countered with a fire where that safety measure didn't work.
the problem is that its hard for the public to understand the fire departments position, because it seems so unreasonable compared to the yimby arguments for single stairwells. Most people never have to contend with a situation where Safety systems fail.
There is a debate if the old seats are more comfortable then the new ones.
Are you going to build a model railroad?
Thrilled that not only does Cricut design space now have AI, it also has a flashing blue ball to make sure that I see it has it.
Thanks @novascotiapower.bsky.social for 2.5hrs of no notice, scheduled maintenance on my street. Also your outage map is wrong, despite me reporting the outage.
Alto. hes doing it. also the new long distance equipment should enable better schedules.
you have to maintain its character, and the city offers grants to offset the costs.
what constraints do you think designation places on it?
Canada post is an enabler of small business. treat it as such.

also note i said delivery to street. I have never had home delivery.
this is exactly what happens, so you get large buildings with 7 styles of cladding, and way to much cheap looking siding.
if the building is 100+ years old, and nobody has done the work to register it in advance of a demolition permit, how much do they really value it. If the best elevator pitch is it was a bank managers house, or the neighbor of an important person, your not a serious heritage advocate.
groups acting like this distract from very real issues of bad design, siteing, and aesthetic choices made by developers.
Rare buildings, notable architects, places of important events sure. the 100 year old middle class home of where some bank manager lived? no.
i don't fundamentally disagree with that position, but nothing they are upset about is heritage, its just old.
why cant we leave Canada post to just deliver mail. We spend Billions to support road networks as a tool for commerce, why can we spend 2 billion to have a national delivery service that reaches everyone's street.
rogers removed itself from the internet. Bell lost all services on the east coast after 2 fiber cuts. Too many people build services dependent on a single provider.
slices will have less cheese typically.
