The thought just occurred to me and it was VERY tasty 🤤 especially villain!Ghost who knows that hero!Soap is trapped in the clutches of a toxic supers org but Soap is too kindhearted to realize it. ➡️

Share your knowledge if/when you can. Teaching other people how to do what you do doesn’t lessen your art - it just means more and better art for everyone.

I appreciate when people are willing to tell me about their brushes, how they study, etc… I want to put that back out into the world.

Despite his thousand and one remaining unknowns, he still retained more knowledge than he cared to about humanity’s most bizarre “natural tendencies.” And so he channeled that into his writing, because it was the only avenue he felt confident enough exploring. In fantasy settings, his preferred choice: there was no right or wrong anything—it was all exploratory, like digging your fingertips into the world you created to search for the treasure you knew was buried deep down inside it. Or maybe it was like making a sandcastle—messy, gritty, but rewarding… when your hour of creation wasn’t knocked over by a single sweep of the incoming tide or kicked over by a careless asshole “on accident.” You could answer questions in ways the tangible world refused to address with a few cleverly-disguised metaphors and flowery prose. That was the real beauty of it. People could find answers when they looked for them, but to an unknowing eye, it was just a nice story that couldn’t possibly have anything to do with deeper values.

At nearly 40 years old, Simon thought he’d had a decent grip on his voice as a writer. He’d found his niche and a regular audience after he began writing erotica online five or so years ago. At first it was for shits and giggles after one too many drinks, but then when he realized people actually enjoyed what he wrote, he couldn’t stop. Anything that kept his fingers going and kept his mind busy was good enough. It would have been funny, a good setup for a romcom, even, if it wasn’t so pitiful: Simon Riley, the asexual almost-not-quite-senior with zero real-life erotic experience who paid his bills writing filthy smut for an audience of men, women, and in-betweeners who were reliably in their 20s and early 30s, if his presence at adult writers’ groups was anything to go by. If the plot of his life would go the way it usually did in every cheap cliche-riddled mass-market romance, Simon would surely meet his dream partner by pure chance and lose his virginity to said partner after a week because they hit it off and curiosity got the better of him after years of self-enforced sexual sobriety. Naturally then he’d realize he missed out on life when he shut himself away from the world as a teenager and would want to die after needlessly suffering decades of depression and wasting his years away, until his lover-in-shining-armor swoops in to rescue him from his spiraling with a long, mushy, sappy, tongue-twisting kiss. And they would marry and live happily ever after and fuck like rabbits, The End. Yeah, fat chance of that happening. In reality, Simon found sex disgusting. It was wet, sticky, sweaty, and far too much effort to chase the elusive satisfaction everyone else bragged about and hungered for like it was some kind of addictive substance. Maybe something just wasn’t connecting, in his brain. Maybe that nasty fall down the stairs he’d had back when he was ten knocked some invisible plug loose in his mind and there was no way to plug it back in. (*character limit)
