Baby's first roux. It (and her gumbo) turned out really well. Half of my grandparents had South Louisiana roots going back hundreds of years., it's fun when the kids embrace that.

My second-born is not generally at all interested in college football, even though she goes to an SEC school. But her underdog team played her big brother's team yesterday, so she went, and got to watch an upset. Tonight's family dinner is going to be interesting.😂

Momming is hard, even after kids are grown. My baby is having a (minor) medical issue, and I can't go to her because I have to head in the opposite direction for surgery tomorrow. She's a nursing student, so has good resources, but it's hard not to be there.

I just discovered the Geico skycast for college football on Hulu. Just the game, no yapping. I love it.

Spent the day in the back lot restocking the brush pile at the house for kindling. And got ready for cold, rainy days coming. Glad the wood is split small so I can keep the fire going after surgery.

These are my grand-girls. The dogs and cat definitely get more coverage, but these two (gadget with light head and Juniper with dark) love to tease their brothers (big brother dog and baby brother cat).
