Something I think ppl need to realize online is that freakiness is relative. What's normal to you is weird to someone else. One man's anti is another man's pro-ship. Someone out there would view YOU as the normie. You are not the model for acceptability.

I feel like the "from a different time" thing that people use to excuse older people being bigoted really only works in the sense of someone using outdated language not actual bigoted ideologies

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.
