I haven’t seen the final minutes but my understanding is it was amended (both before the meeting and also at the meeting by Trustee Fraser) to remove references to DPAC and to being “disruptive.” The more general issue of respectful communications was referred to committee.
Perhaps trustee “workflow” should focus on improving access to inclusive education instead of trying to squelch freedom of expression. Then maybe the trustees wouldn’t get so many letters from disappointed parents. 2/2
In April, hundreds of parents wrote to VSB trustees about the lack of funding for inclusive education, as part of a DPAC letter campaign. In response, ABC trustees are trying to shut down DPAC’s ability to communicate with them. No wonder parents in Vancouver are so disheartened. #vsb#bced
