Got salt stains? We asked the Canadian on staff what to do.

“Vinegar! Mix equal parts with water. Spray or use a sponge or soft rag. Dab along the white lines. Use a brush on suede or nubuck.”

“And don’t let it sit! Salt burns so these lines will stay if left for long enough —after a few days.”

DC has been occupied for 177 days. We of @freedcproject.bsky.social are still out nightly at 7, undaunted by snow/cold/rain, with whistles, drums, pots and pans, to say We Are Here - resolute and joyful - and #FreeDC

🧵 1/ We’re devastated about the layoffs at The Washington Post, which are gutting D.C. reporting. These journalists are an incalculable loss for our city. The 51st’s mission has always felt urgent, but now we know it needs to kick into high gear.

About 1 in 3 Post employees are affected by the Weds layoffs, which reach into business and tech functions. The Sports desk is virtually eliminated as is book coverage. International and Metro sections are severely cut.
