New work: ‘Glowing Home’ original oil on canvas board. Someone I have known for many years - we shared many good friends - had recently left us. My wife pointed out that this scene is a departure; an end of the day and she connected the two. RIP Mr Wood x

I always enjoy the varnishing stage as you’re locking the painting in before it goes to the framers. The ‘c’ shaped vessel was my first attempt at pottery 30 years ago at Darlington Tech.
I can still see lecturer Steve Gruffyd shaking his head at me. He’d be pleased I’m still painting though
