🇨🇦 Tax Wealth Not Work.

Many American Catholics had their humanist literalism surgically removed during the Cold War, for safety reasons.
I disagree with the interpretation, but w/e it doesn’t matter because it’s an opinion. I like Bakshi’s take that he was Native for aesthetics, myself.
All Hail the Banker-in-Chief. The Blessed Economist chosen by the Laurentian bourgeoisie to deliver them from taxation.
It’s “cope”. A pre-rationalization to avoid having to mentally handle the fact that you’re betraying an oath.
The piece is, for lack of a better term, “cope”. A pre-rationalization to not do what they need to do, and not refuse orders when they come.
We’ll see! My impression is that’s a non-starter w/ FPtP. The Libs and Cons are both pretty ideologically close rn (the Libs are about to pass an austerity budget). I just think we’ll get the 2024 UK cycle of “neolib party in power fails to fix things, other one takes over to not fix things either”
I think the Cons would be fine with it. Pollievre is unlikeable but if I were them I’d take another shot under a stability message. I don’t see the downside bc the Libs would take the blame for not keeping a government together.
NDP don’t want another cycle yet. We still haven’t gotten to vote for a new leader, and they have no profile. Unfortunately the leader will matter A LOT.
NDPs aren’t in any way ready to compete within the turnaround time an election cycle would require rn. They’ll yap about how it’s bad and count their votes to make sure they don’t trigger it. We’ll vote for a new party leader then we’ll see.
IMO you’re consigning the party to weak candidates if you are willing to brush this sort of stuff aside. The defense of it being a mistake/not bad will come up as un-professional and weak when a candidate competes with him on any level. Rs are gonna win and everyone’s gonna blame Leftists *again*.
“Hehe stupid Americans, why make a tank that functions when you can design shiny roadblocks that get featured in the animated cartoons of a similarly defeated und defanged ally 60 years later”?
I think in a sort of sinister way he’s signalling to the powers that be: “Pick me and I’ll change my views to suit what is most convenient”
I think this news is outrage bait, given iirc these sorts of secondary shows can happen around the big event.
They’re buying up a product that becomes 50-100% faster per chip every 3-5 years. I think they know that, but they’re trying to figure out how to make it someone else’s problem (using loans instead of selling equity).
This is a great idea!
Disagree with “more often than not” re: racism, but there are weirdos under the tent.
I think people’s ability to compare livable space historically is also a little iffy sometimes. Even if housing goes up in price and impact the ability to get *something*, how much you get matters somewhat when we say “oh 1960s X country was very affordable”
I read Farm to Factory by Allen but needed more on the subject, thanks!
Although I agree that the USSC is messed, I wouldn’t be in favour of a central banker controlling tax rates for the rich, but fair enough!
imo that’s pretty dicey just because of how democratically unaccountable they are tn.
The path of least political resistance. Spend now, tax someone else later.
Because ours are societies obsessed with aesthetic and spectacle.
They were pretty good at getting the signatures around. Had someone at a lot of the municipal election line-ups last week too!
Ratcheting effect. “Everything that isn’t my view is an extreme and bad view. Compromise is a last resort.”
I can’t explain the blue dogs I think they’re just opportunists.
Maybe it can be sold to the DNC as "year-long direct advertisements"
