I'm 28. I draw pictures for me as a hobby and design sound for games that I make with my friends. My posts are good because they are emotionally honest. Artwork may be suggestive. Thank you for reading

British computer games are some of the most mystifying artifacts ever crafted. Knight Lore and Jet Set Willy are never described as anything but seminal works, Silksong not existing without the latter's contributions to the Willyvania genre, but the number of times either is mentioned in a year is 0

many gamers have this inexplicable urge to yell at people who go against the consensus. i don't need to hear anyone tell me why super metroid is good, i know that already. i want someone to tell me why balan wonderworld is good. bring a little something to the conversation.

The point of media analysis is to figure out what meaning can be derived from a work as it's presented, which is knowledge that can be carried forward into living your life and maybe into creating art of your own. I think that's all that can be said on the subject with any real authority, yeah?

Thinking about Barbuta again. It's such a genuine celebration of the act of developing a video game, whether a half century ago or today; the magic of creation doesn't fade with time. It really is important to make things...... it makes me happy to see things made and I am also happy to make them
