Our secondary program enjoyed a wonderful Community Meal! For 20+ years, this tradition has brought together middle and high school students and staff to celebrate our diverse Deaf community. A joyful afternoon of culture, connection, and gratitude.

High school students are literally taking on new heights! Students in the after-school program have the chance to try bouldering and/or climbing. They’re also learning gym etiquette, building strength on the weights, and cheering on seasoned climbers attempting impressive climbs.

Students kicked off a new unit on disabilities by exploring how people with disabilities were treated from ancient times to the 19th century. After researching their eras, they became “Town Criers,” sharing what they learned and reflecting on fairness, inclusion, and progress.

From soccer practices to in-house uniform workshops and a spirited send-off, it was truly inspiring to see our amazing school community come together to support HMS’s first-ever participation in the New England Deaf (NESD) Elementary Soccer Tournament. Go Cougars! 🐾⚽💛💙 #hmsdeafpride

Our students are becoming experts at editing and expanding their narrative writing to include details, including describing words, where, when, why and how. We even have a chapter book author among us!
