The Purity State They did not call themselves fascists. They called themselves necessary. The Ideology of Blood The State's official philosophy is called Homeland Restoration, the belief that the nation was once pure, was contaminated by foreign elements, and must be restored to its original condition through systematic purification. This is a lie, of course. The nation they claim to restore never existed. The purity they celebrate is a fiction constructed from selective history and deliberate forgetting. But the lie is powerful because it is simple, because it offers clear answers to complicated questions, and because believing it feels better than facing what they've done. The doctrine has several core tenets: Blood Memory: The nation exists in pure blood. Ancestry is destiny. Those whose lineage traces to mythologized pasts carry the nation's essence in their cells. Those whose bloodlines were "diluted" or "contaminated" through mixing with foreign populations are genetically incapable of true citizenship. The science behind this is fabricated, but those who created it received funding and prestige, and most have convinced themselves they're doing real work. The Contamination: “Foreign” elements (immigrants, refugees, minority populations, those with "deviant" beliefs or behaviors) are described not as people but as contamination. A disease metaphor runs through all State communication: the pure body politic has been infected, and infection requires treatment. Treatment can mean many things. Many of those things happen with peer pressure. Many of those things happen in camps. The Resonant Aberration: Resonants are the ultimate proof of contamination theory. The ability to touch other minds, to broadcast feelings, to dissolve the boundaries between self and other are feared and abhorred. It is presented as evidence of genetic damage, of bloodlines so compromised that normal human separation has failed. Resonants are not merely impure; they are contagious. Their existence threatens everyone nearby. The propaganda posters show resonants as tendrils, as viruses, as shadows seeping under doors. The State does not acknowledge that resonance appears across all bloodlines, that some of their own officials are latent resonants, or that their most secret programs depend on captured resonants to function. These contradictions are not discussed. What This Is… You remember the first time you felt it. Not the first time it happened… that was earlier, in moments you couldn't yet interpret. But the first time you understood. You were seven, or nine, or twelve. You were in a room with someone who was smiling, and you felt the scream that lived behind the smile. You were touching your mother's hand and you knew (not suspected, knew) that she was thinking about leaving. You were in a crowd and the crowd's fear became your fear, indistinguishable, a tide that pulled you under before you knew there was water. You learned to call this a lot of things. Intuition. Imagination. Anxiety. The voice in your head. You learned to doubt it. You learned to hide it. You learned that when you spoke about what you felt from others, the others looked at you with expressions you would later learn to identify as the beginning of fear. The State has since provided a word for what you are. They call it contamination. The vanished call it sight. Your body is an antenna. You did not ask for this. The signal comes through whether you want it or not. The broadcast of human suffering is unstoppable, tuned to a frequency your nerves receive like radio static. When you use it, when you transmit back, when you push feeling into the world's tissue, something inside you goes quiet. Not gone. Quiet. The way a room goes quiet after someone has stopped screaming.

man, a bit of a dilemma. I did Alaska, Greenland and Iceland about the same time I did Northern Canada, but sat on it because of current events. Is it still ethical to release once I'm done with the capital parkland? interested in hearing from people in their respective areas.
