Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek to music teachers!

We are continually inspired by music educators. It’s an honor to witness the passion & dedication these incredible teachers bring to their classrooms every day.

Thank you! The work you doesn’t just bring joy to students, it changes their lives.
Jack can now keep on playing, a small piece of normalcy and connection restored through one generous act. 🎺
Gregg, a volunteer firefighter and freelance musician, had a spare trumpet he no longer used. When the fires broke out, he donated it, hoping it could help someone in need. It ended up being a perfect match for Jack, nearly identical to the one he lost!
Jack was excited to join his school band, playing the trumpet his late father had once played—a cherished gift passed down after his father's passing last year. Tragically, Jack's school was destroyed in the recent Los Angeles fires and with it, his beloved trumpet was lost.
Cheers to B-Real for bringing joy to these Hollenbeck Middle School students in East LA. Thanks to his generosity, these students now have brand new flutes, clarinets, and a marimba, keeping the music alive at Hollenbeck!

Today, he still enjoys every chance he gets to play trombone. He credits his high school band directors and his private trombone instructors for instilling a love of music and for playing trombone.
Before joining the foundation, Todd spent over a decade teaching middle and high school band, followed by several years in education administration.
Meet Todd Shipley, our Program Director! Todd’s music journey began in 6th grade—more than 28 years ago—when he first picked up the trombone. He went on to earn a degree in instrumental music education and performed in every major collegiate ensemble across a wide range of musical styles.
You can find Addy regularly playing with the Corona Symphony Orchestra in SoCal. She's delighted at the chance to play a small part in granting students the opportunity to develop the same passion for music.
After meeting her first harp instructor at an Irish dance competition, Addy developed a love for music that eventually led her through an undergraduate degree in Instrumental Performance.
Today’s Music in Our Schools Month® staff shoutout is our Administrative Assistant, Addy Beimford!
