The Bemidji Tenants Union is looking to help renters negotiate rent prices and have basic maintenance in the buildings where they reside. Fifty-eight percent of the city’s residents are designated as renters.

I did some research for @homelinemn.org a few years back and found that 26 states allow tenants to make repairs and deduct those amounts from their rent, to some extent or another. Minnesota does not. A huge hole in our laws, especially when some cities do not meaningfully enforce their city codes

Right to repair is a commonsense solution to ensure renters have safe homes.
