stg sometimes asking a question on the Internet is worse than bargaining with the Fair Folk in the amount of careful specification needed. Demodex was (erroneously) thought to have no way to shit SOLID excrement, and therefore that said shit would build up until the creature starved....

No, that's not what I was referring to. Until recently, Demodex (little skin mites) were thought to have no anus, so they'd simply fill with feces until they died (no room to consume & digest food). ...

All that is interesting, but I worded it as "mouth" and "lack a way to excrete feces" for a reason. The Ediacaran fans and modern fungi and such lack a mouth. The ones that regurgitate feces can excrete, just not with a dedicated (or re-creatable) orifice. I'm wondering about the shit-buildup case.

Are there animals that have a mouth but lack a way to excrete feces, so when they're full of shit, they die? Leave aside the obvious jokes or prayers, PLEASE. (Not Demodex, BTW.) Could such an animal have a residue-less diet? If so, I wonder what would happen.

I finally had a Blinding Flash of the Obvious and checked the alt text. "A small brown lizard,maybe a skink, on the hood of a car". And then I noticed that the end of a windshield wiper is on the far left. We see the hood top edge + the bottom of the windshield, looking into the trench(?) there.
