Dad. Proud Marylander. Congressman representing Maryland's 5th District. Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Regional Leadership Council.
As we stood together to reflect on the past two grueling years, I remained in awe of the remarkable strength demonstrated by the families of Americans Itay Chen & Omer Neutra, who were horrifically taken captive and murdered by Hamas on Oct. 7.

At a time when Americans are worried about rising costs, we ought to help them save time & money while filing taxes.

I was glad to join @urbaninstitute.bsky.social to discuss Direct File's impact & will keep working with Comptroller @brookelierman.bsky.social to improve the taxpayer experience.

The September Jobs Report — which was released 7 weeks late due to the Republican shutdown — does little to dispel the job market's weak showing this past summer.

Trump's policies continue to diminish job creation, increase costs for working families, and generate economic uncertainty.

Republican leadership made many attempts to quash our efforts, but the survivors of Epstein's sex crimes deserve justice & the public deserves the truth.

I am deeply moved by the strength of the survivors, & I will continue to stand with them as we call on the Admin to release the Epstein Files.

At the core of this Republican shutdown was the false premise that Congress could either reopen the government or provide for the health of the American people. Instead, the GOP told the American people: you’re on your own. Read my full statement:

We owe our freedom, security, and all the opportunities our democracy offers to the men & women who risked their lives on our nation's behalf.

On Veterans Day & every day, let us salute their bravery and honor their courage with our work to take care of them long after their service to our country.

During the most turbulent times, every American must be able to access critical information from the government.

I applaud Judge Ali's order for the White House to implement this very reasonable accommodation. We must keep working to ensure every aspect of life is inclusive & accessible for all.

The Trump Admin is undermining the FBI’s vital law enforcement & national security mission by continuing to deprive it of a secure, consolidated facility. Without SNAP benefits, 42 million Americans - including nearly 680,000 in MD - would go without food assistance. Hundreds of federal employees in Maryland & beyond are already turning to their local food banks for help.

We must put an end to this Republican shutdown.
October 31, 2025 at 2:26 PM
We must not choose between paying federal workers, lowering health care costs, or funding federal food assistance; all are critically important to the American people.

I will continue to demand a bipartisan agreement that accomplishes these objectives & puts an end to the Republican shutdown.
October 30, 2025 at 11:22 PM
In the face of Trump’s illegal action to withhold SNAP funding, the MD Delegation is glad to see Gov. Moore take action to protect vulnerable families.

Team Maryland will continue working to support Marylanders as we fight to end this shameful Republican shutdown.
