2c. this thread kinda got away from me but i rly do think that they were both drawn to the other's inherent core of kindness hidden under layers of trauma and bullshit...like wow two people being nice to each other...crazy how relationships blossom from that...

2b. bernie, i think, is also unconsciously drawn to the fact that he's nice to her after their C support, even tho it doesn't register to her until way later. she THINKS she's scared of him, but i think she sees the caring dude that she can feel safe with/trust under his stupid evil man mask.

2a. honestly i think its the fact that she's been kinda real with him since day 1? i feel like he appreciates her candor / refusal to bullshit w/ him as early as their school days.

anyway i think he unconsciously locked in after their C support and was fully in love with her after the A support.

2. i rly think the core of huberts love for bernie can be traced back to like. him not finding her annoying / thinking she's someone worth being kind to from the jump. this is canon btw. bernie is the only non edelgard person he's not an asshole to in all his C suports. if you even freakin CARE!

1a. hubert will be like 'you should take better care of yourself' and bernie will be like 'and what about YOU!' and they'll fight a lil about it, realize the other has a point and be like 'ok...we'll both take better care of ourselves 😤' and then revert back to their old habits just days later!

1. i think they'd argue over the other not taking care of themselves as they should. like hubert overworking himself (bc my guys a workaholic), or bernie taking on too many trips. they've def burned out before but are stubborn about Upholding Duty or w/e that they won't see the forest for the trees
