Well a snow flurry made tonight's 222-mile journey a little too exciting to start with. Thankfully short-lived as typically we were in a car on summer tyres.

Well now's your chance. A super early 3 door Berlingo Coupán with sunroof. It doesn't get any better than this.

Ratcliffe can get stuffed. The problem is not immigrants but billionaires who hide their wealth and then tell us what to do.

I still adore these, even though I do not fit in them.
Factoid: In an highly competitive segment the niche manufacturers were looking for anything to give them an advantage or even some visibility so Daihatsu eagerly grabbed that opportunity in 1999 when Autocar gave them a ‘Best Value’ nod for its supermini Sirion (in Mark 1 form as geeks will note)…

The Winter Olympics is so odd. What the heck even is Moguls? It looks ridiculous.

Factoid: The Capri may been more popular in Europe, but the A20/30 Celica always had the reliability edge which this 1974 ad was keen to note plus equipment levels that removed the need to visit the options list or the local motor factors…

The Suzuki Carry Van was introduced in 1964, and was marketed as a solution for growing families as well as a utility vehicle for shipping. You can see this family embracing both roles as they load 6 boxes of OEM parts into the back of their brand new Carry.

Daihatsu's Mira Gino, launched in 1999, reflected the popularity of retro-styled models in the Japanese home market. A 660cc kei car, it was loosely inspired by the company's important mid-'60s Compagno model, and reflected some BMC styling themes too. #weirdcarbs

Just £3 a month could help this poor, neglected floof afford the extra blanket he so clearly needs.

The one time I drove an 803cc Minor, I could not believe how low the gearing was! Seemed to be screaming by 30mph.
Factoid: True the 0-60 time sounds positively sloth-like these days, but Minor 1000 enjoyed a 20% power boost over its 803cc predecessor which among other things meant a 12mph increase in top speed (to 75) & near halving of the aforementioned that 0-60 time…

YES! I would love to spend some time with one of these. Not just for the crazy wipers.

I adore these.
Factoid: The Jowett Javelin, one of the best of the early British postwar cars & uniquely built upside down too.
Here’s the best slogan used to promote it which is also one of my favourite car ad slogans of all time…

I think this photo dates from 2003. I owned both. They hold the record for most miles covered in my ownership. Over 40k on the 306 DTurbo, over 140k in the 2CV.

Legally, I never have to do this ever again. Elly's last MOT? I'm telling myself no, because £54 for a professional car inspection is a bargain. Just a sanity check of the underside and brake test make it a bargain.

News story today about protecting your hearing. Fair. I reckon I did huge damage to my hearing attending a Machine Head concert in 1999. Also life with a very loud 2CV. I often wear ear plugs these days.

I want a van with enough room in the back to pace and smoke a pipe and think over my next newspaper article.

Hyundai's first serious foray into the large SUV market, the Terracan, followed the well-proven formula of offering a lot for the money. Underneath was the chassis of the second-generation Mitsubishi Pajero. This 2004 brochure is from the UK, where it had a 2.9-litre turbodiesel engine. #weirdcarbs
