Time to light the afterburners, some Miles, 'Black Beauty, Miles Davis at Fillmore West' (1973, 1997 Hi-Res), originally recorded in 1970, blistering set hot on the heels of Bitches Brew and Jack Johnson. Intense, superb freewheeling jazz/rock fusion 😎

Really doesn't seem all that long ago. Agnes Obel debut album 'Philharmonics' (2010, Hi-Res DL).
Wonderful album and more to follow after this one with 'Aventine' and 'Citizen of Glass' being well worth a listen 😎👍

Ghost Rhythms, 'Live at Yoshiwara' (2019, CD). A live album in front of a small audience in a place that isn't Yoshiwara ... but imagining it to be so. Another dream like concept from GR always pushing at ways to have their sound influenced and presented in different ways 😎

Time for the audio portion, Gary Numan, ‘1,000 Live at the Electric Ballroom’ (2025, CD).
Glorious celebration of music and a life touring. This is a great show, incredible set list, and so well received 😎

Now jumping ahead, Styx and their latest 'Circling from Above' (2025, Tidal, Hi-Res), and it's another winner. Last of a recent trio of releases from 2017 to now, that are just killing it. Wonderful stuff. Also including; 'The Mission', 'Crash of the Crown' 😎👌

Styx, 'The Mission' (2017, Tidal Hi-Res). Wonderful album from a recent 3-album cycle that is quite superb. Great prog/concept material here 😎👍

Excellent new album run through from Ghost Rhythms, 'Missing Times' due to be recorded in the studio in December and released next year on Cuneiform label. Sounds excellent to these ears 😎

Last night’s late listen, Yazz Ahmed and ‘A Paradise in the Hold, Remixed’ (2025, Bandcamp), regular re-visits to her albums with remix issues thereafter, always of interest. 😎

50 years ago today I went see the amazing #BlueÖysterCult at Hammersmith Odeon. Here's the opening page of my BÖC scrapbook with ticket and advert. Along with the return train ticket for £5.17. I posted photos from the 75 gig back in May. The autographs are from Bristol 2019

The opposite is true. We need to do less, and we need to do it more slowly. Doing a lot more nothing, including sleeping, would reduce resource consumption, lower stress levels and enable social relations more conducive to dignity and grace…”

Bit of Mogwai in film noir mode, ‘Special Moves, Live in Brooklyn, NY, 2009’ (DVD, 2010). The b/w film suits the vibe 😎

Back into dream electro pop if Elsehow and ‘Afterimage’ (2025, Bandcamp). Obvious comparison to Sylvian due to vocal style and arrangements, no bad thing 😎

Nice chilled release from Fabrizio Paterlini, ‘Layers’ (2025, Tidal Hi-Res). Haven’t played anything of his for some time and need to catch up with recent releases, this being latest. Piano, electronics, strings, all well composed and tastefully presented 😎
